The taxonomy team consists of taxonomists and ontologists who develop taxonomies and surface relationships between taxonomies to facilitate matching between job seekers, jobs, employers and global markets.
The nature of the work is incredibly complex but very valuable to Indeeds mission. I joined the team to help analysts scale their work in both domestic and international markets.
Traditionally it would take taxonomy analysts up to a year to develop a top level hierarchy for a new market. A machine learning model was put into place to accelerate that process but the current UI supporting the model was cumbersome and inefficient.
I was brought in to figure how to make the existing product work better. My work, in conjunction with the model, reduced the time to build top-level hierarchies by 75%
